Gathered here are the rules that all forum users must observe in order to keep some order in the community and to avoid most kinds of problems. The rules are grouped into different sections depending on the subject they cover.
General Rules:- The Forum's main target is to help users with problems relating to different themes and plugins that I have been developing over time (or that I'll develop). This forum is a way to extend the blog comments and form a small community to help and support, so the basic pillar of the forum is respect for all users.
- Any other user can tell any other in case of a mistake or fault, but to avoid problems I recommend using the button "Report to moderator" (Reportar al moderador).
- Pornographic, xenophobic, racist, discriminatory, politically charged comments will be erased. Offering and asking for serials, cracks, and links to downloads will also be erased. Depending on the seriousness of the content further mesures could be taken.
Rules for posts and topics:- Users are free to open topics that meet the rules to be published in the appropriate forum. If a user finds a topic in a forum where it does not belong, he/she can alert a moderator to move it to the proper forum. The author of a topic that is not in the appropriate forum will be notified of the error. If the user continues to publish issues in forums that do not belong, he/she will be warned.
- Posts that ask for help with a problem should be clear and provide data. Avoid using a title like "HELP", "SOS" and so, and seek to provide all the information you can about your situation (for instance, if you have a problem with WordPress, say the version you use and the URL) . The more descriptive title and content posts, the easier to help.
- A forum is not a mobile, characters are not limited and you can write as much as you want. Try using words that all users can understand: try to avoid dialect that others cannot understand, try to use the correct spelling, abbreviations should be avoided as far as you can (be careful, is not the same abreviating "Cascading Style Sheets" into "CSS" than "for you" into "4 u") and write the message in a way that is easy to read (do not abuse the colors, capitalization, emoticons or text size).
SPAM and Advertising:- SPAM is strictly prohibited in the forum and is one of the faults were punished more harshly.
- About advertising, it is forbidden posting links to websites that have nothing to do with the subject being treated in a topic. Commercial advertising will also be erased.
Private messages:- Private Messages are governed by the same rules as the rest of the forum. As its name suggests, these messages can only be seeing by the authors and recipients. If you receive threats, insults, etc via Private Messages, do not delete the message. Report it to a moderador (or an admin) and a user with access to the database will try to locate the message and check the veracity of the facts. It is also recommended to keep screenshots and copies of such messages.
- Failure of rules about Private Messages will hang your inbox and you will never be able to use the private messaging system again.
Avatars and Signatures:- The images of avatars and signatures must be suitable for all audiences and comply with the general rules of the forum. If an image includes, for example, a link to an illegal download, the image will be removed, it will also happen if it includes any content that may offend others.
- For a correct navigation on the forum avoid using too many images in signatures and avatars. Images on signatures are limited to 3 and cannot be bigger than the container where they are goind to appear. Any image exciding div's width or height could be erased and the user warned. You can check how your signatures looks by using "Preview" (Vista previa).
As you can see, the main rule is
respect to other users. Finally, these rules can be modified in the future, if required (when they changed all users will be notified).
